How our assessments work

Coxpa tools are structured self-reflection exercises. They turn your answers into a readable picture of where you stand today. They do not diagnose, and they do not predict the future.

Who builds them

The questions, scoring and report text are written and maintained by the Coxpa editorial team. None of the tools has been reviewed by a clinician, and we do not claim professional credentials we do not have.

How a score is produced

Each tool asks a fixed set of statements answered on an agreement scale. Every statement belongs to one dimension. A dimension score is the average of its answers, rescaled to 0 to 100, with reverse-worded statements flipped first. All statements in a dimension carry equal weight.

  • Corelpa compares two people's answers to the same statements, area by area, and highlights where they agree and where they differ.
  • Codespa scores 56 statements across seven readiness dimensions and maps the overall profile to a descriptive archetype.
  • Cofelpa scores a short weekly check-in across mood areas so you can compare one week with the next.

What informed the framework

The dimensions draw on themes common in published relationship and wellbeing research, such as attachment, communication under conflict, shared values and stress. For example, see the Gottman Institute research overview. That research studies people and couples in general. It does not test or validate any Coxpa tool.

What has and has not been tested

We check that questions read clearly and that scoring behaves as intended. No Coxpa tool has undergone formal reliability or validity testing, and we publish no accuracy figures.

Limits of interpretation

  • A result describes your answers on one day, not a fixed trait.
  • It is not a diagnosis and not a substitute for professional support.
  • It cannot guarantee or forecast whether, when, or with whom a relationship works.
